It is not nice to laugh when someone makes a complete dimwit of themselves on national television but sometimes it is tough not to.
A case in point would be what Whoopi Goldberg, the moderator of the ABC daytime talk show “The View” did on Wednesday.
Goldberg is a hardcore Democrat and a supporter, it appears, of former Vice President Joe Biden. And in her haste to praise his family she humiliated herself.

The actress and comedian was speaking of Biden’s wife Jill Biden, who is a teacher with a PhD, when she made a hilarious mistake.
“We have to move on about Biden’s big win last night, and this group of people at the table rarely agree on anything, but we were all holding out for Biden and said not to count him out,” host Meghan McCain said .
“We got a lot of criticism because we said don’t count him out. So “The View” was a little right—just saying,” she said.
But Whoopi could not simply take the victory and jog on. No, she wanted to start to shape the pretend Biden presidency.
“I’m hoping Dr. Jill becomes the Surgeon General, his wife,” she said, which got ABC News correspondent Jon Karl to laugh.
“Joe Biden’s wife,” she said. “She would never do it but, yeah, she’s a hell of a doctor. She’s an amazing doctor.”
McCain told Goldberg, who had to be embarrassed at that point, that she did not think that Jill Biden was a medical doctor.
That was McCain’s way of not humiliating Goldberg as the Biden family and McCain are friends, so it is unlikely she did not know that for a fact.
“She’s a teacher but might be good for [Secretary of Education] Betsy DeVos’s post,” co host Sunny Hostin said.
“I was wrong about his wife,” she said when the show came back from commercial. “I was wrong, before you start texting and emailing.”
But it is not a simple mistake. Goldberg declared that Jill Biden was a “wonderful” and “amazing” doctor and did not know anything about her.
She just believed she was a medical doctor and by virtue of her being married to Joe Biden that made her “wonderful” and “amazing.”
Goldberg could not have known anything about the “wonderful” and “amazing” medical exploits of Jill Biden because they do not exist.
This is indicative of the type of bias that is spread by the mainstream media on a daily basis that people believe.
